(noise)letter: New Year, New Music ✨

Happy New Year!

I'm so excited for everything that's happening in 2020. Bands are sharing new music with me left and right, and I already know this is going to be a big year.

Getting personal for a sec – The last few months have been hard. In between the tears, doubt, fear, and feeling like I'm pushing a boulder uphill most days, I've had to shift my focus daily. I've had to give myself permission to learn and change direction (even though I just started), and settle into life in ways that aren't so dependent on being a textbook "successful business owner" or "accomplished musician."

What's been great about this whole process is that even though Noise Gate is still in its formative moments and that means a LOT of side hustling to make it happen, I've felt more connected to music than I ever have before.

And I have all of you to thank for that. 🖤

All this to say, don't wait to share your music or your work with a publicist, a producer, a friend, etc. You don't have to know what the next 20 steps are. Start with one. Share your work. It's so important to keep ourselves connected to people who can celebrate us. And I want to celebrate you!

You may not have your album written or recorded; you may not have all the band members you need; you may not have a solid idea for your project or business at all! But whatever you're doing to create something new – share it. If things are happening in your professional, personal, or creative life – big or small – share it and let's do it together.

Speaking of...I'm stoked to be working with some amazing new artists! If you haven't heard, check out the talented folks in Theody and Those Who Wander:

Theody is more than just another force in the hard rock landscape. Hailing from NW Arkansas, the three-piece has honed in on their unique sound and brand, driven by their faith, convictions, connection with their fans, and excellence in their craft. The band released their third album, the "Prelude" EP, in 2018. Sign up for their email list to be the first to hear about the exciting stuff they have coming up this year!

Those Who Wander is a pop-punk band that stems from the mind and philosophy of my dear friend, Shekinah Toebbe. She has this to say about her new solo project: “Those Who Wander is a project focused on sharing the deep parts of my inner wanderings and exploration. This project is the most raw and honest of anything I have individually created…Ultimately, my hope is that Those Who Wander will become a community of humans who are learning to embrace what it means to be human while caring for one another along the way. Because, in the famous words of J.R.R. Tolkien, ‘Not all those who wander are lost.’”

To your success, Naø 🖤
