TEXAS INSTRUMENTAL BAND FOLKLORE SHARES
BRAND NEW SINGLE, 'CEDAR'

AUSTIN, TX, 15 April 2022 – Texas-based instrumental collective, Folklore, ushers in a new wave of music with their brand new single, "Cedar."

The song finds the band sharpening their genre-bending skills with grooves that ebb and flow in energy, cascading guitar riffs, and gaping synths that both disarm and guide listeners through to the final seismic movement.

"'Cedar' is a bridge between the Matter EP and the start of a more exploratory dive into genre fluidity," explains the band. "We collaborated via Zoom, Discord, and the occasional long drive to create a song that's extremely fun for us, and we hope everyone has just as much fun listening to it."

For Folklore, inspiration surfaces anywhere there is feeling, extracted from a riff or progression, their vast array of musical tastes, an existential muse, or the tangible feeling of picking up instruments and crashing sounds together with your friends. A self-produced effort, "Cedar" marks the first of what is to come for the rising trio.

About Folklore:

Texas-based instrumental collective, Folklore, embraces every texture, tempo, and nuance of their art, discovered beyond the bounds of genre and infused with remnants of human experience. Comprised of Joshua Muse (bass), Travis Wilburn (guitar, synth/programming, saxophone), and Jon Walton (drums/programming), the roots of the band can be found on a college campus, and have since ventured through side projects, metal bands, and different cities until its resurgence in 2018. The fruit of their time spent exploring music together, and apart, led to a desire to break free of any limitations. Now, the band is simply driven by a mutual love of storytelling and a genre-agnostic identity. For more information, visit music.folklorejams.com.
